How it works
Concentration = vial amount ÷ water added
Volume per dose = dose amount ÷ concentration
Units to draw = volume per dose × 100 for a U-100 syringe, or × 40 for a U-40 syringe
Worked example
A 5 mg semaglutide vial with 2 ml of bacteriostatic water gives 2.5 mg/ml. A 0.25 mg dose is 0.1 ml, which is 10 units on a U-100 syringe.
